Scoreless
Privacy Policy
Draft prepared October 13, 2026
Scoreless helps you follow your teams without spoiling the game. This policy explains what stays on your device, what reaches our service, and what choices you have.
1. Who we are and what this covers
Scoreless is provided by Overcast Software LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This draft covers the current Scoreless macOS app and the service that supplies its sports information.
You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].
2. Information stored on your device
Scoreless stores your followed teams, appearance and highlight-provider preferences, notification settings, and other app settings locally. It also keeps local records of highlights you opened or marked watched and game notifications already handled. A “watched” record means you opened a highlight link or marked the game watched; it does not measure whether you finished the video.
Your selected teams and cached sports information are also available to Scoreless’s widget on the same Mac. The current app does not require a Scoreless account or sync your settings and watched history between devices.
If you configure a custom service connection, its access credential is stored securely on your Mac and sent to that service to authorize requests.
3. Information processed by our service
To supply schedules, game status, starting lineups, and highlight links, the app sends the team, league, date, or game selections needed for the feature you use. Some app versions also send your device’s time-zone setting.
Our hosting and security provider processes your IP address, approximate location derived from it, and technical request information, such as browser or app information, request timing, errors, and performance. We use this information to deliver requests, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain reliability. IP addresses are also used to limit excessive requests.
Hosting and security records may include the teams, games, and dates requested by older app versions. These records can be associated with an IP address. Our service does not receive your local watched-history list or notification preferences.
The current macOS app does not access GPS location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera. It does not use advertising, behavioral analytics, or third-party crash-reporting tools.
Sports-data providers supply public sports information used by Scoreless. We do not send them your IP address, local watched history, or local notification preferences.
4. App Store purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes App Store purchases and subscriptions. Scoreless verifies your purchase and subscription status on your device to enable membership features and restore purchases.
We do not receive your full payment-card information or Apple Account password. The current app does not send your purchase records to our service or create a Scoreless account for a purchase. Apple keeps its own purchase records and makes developer sales or diagnostic reports available through its services. See Apple’s App Store privacy information.
5. Notifications, external links, and contacting us
Game alerts are generated on your Mac after the app checks game data, with your notification permission. You can change alert preferences in Scoreless and notification permission in macOS System Settings.
Choosing a highlight opens a YouTube link outside Scoreless. Google/YouTube can then process information under Google’s privacy policy, including your activity and network information. Scoreless does not send its local watched-history list to YouTube.
If you email us or participate in our Discord community, we receive the contact details, messages, and attachments you choose to provide. We use them to reply, troubleshoot issues, and manage the community. Email is handled through our Gmail mailbox; Discord messages are handled through Discord. Community posts may be visible to other community members. Review Discord’s privacy policy and avoid posting private information publicly.
Cloudflare is our hosting and security provider and processes service traffic on our behalf. Its privacy policy and data-processing terms describe its processing and safeguards. Apple, Google, and Discord also process information under their own policies when you use their services.
6. How long information is kept
- App preferences and widget data: remain in local app storage until changed or removed. Removing the macOS app alone may leave preferences, widget data, or saved access credentials behind. Device backups are controlled by your operating system and backup settings.
- Watched-highlight history: entries are pruned after 15 days from the last opening or marking-watched action when the app next runs its cleanup. You can also mark an individual game unwatched.
- Notification history: local records are pruned after seven days without observing the game when notification processing next runs. Notifications already delivered are separately managed by macOS.
- Hosting and security records: the provider’s standard request-log storage retains records for up to seven days, and its security analytics makes records available for up to 31 days under our current service arrangements. Retention for other provider records and any separate copies still needs confirmation before this policy is finalized.
- Support communications: the retention period for our copies of emails and community messages must be confirmed before this policy is finalized. Apple, Google, and Discord manage their own records under their respective policies.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You can change or remove followed teams, adjust settings, mark games unwatched, and disable alerts in the app. You can stop further app requests by quitting the app. macOS controls notification permission.
For help clearing remaining local app, widget, or saved access data, or to request access, correction, or deletion of information we hold about you, email [email protected]. Describe the request without sending passwords, access keys, or payment details. We may ask for information reasonably needed to identify the relevant correspondence or records. We cannot remotely access or delete the app’s local data on your Mac.
Applicable law may provide additional privacy rights. We handle requests according to the laws that apply and may retain information where necessary to comply with legal obligations. Requests concerning Apple, Google, or Discord’s own records should also be directed to that provider.
Deleting app data or uninstalling Scoreless does not cancel an App Store subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple’s subscription settings.
8. International users
Scoreless is intended for international availability. Hosting, support, and the external services described above may process information in countries other than where you live. We do not promise that all processing stays within your country.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, obtain a portable copy, restrict processing, or object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Use the privacy contact above to exercise rights concerning information we hold. Rights and exceptions depend on the laws that apply to your situation. The final policy’s legal bases and international-transfer safeguards must be confirmed against the services and processing arrangements used for release.
9. Children
Scoreless is intended for general sports fans and is not designed for or directed at children. The app does not ask for a date of birth. This does not mean that a child’s use of the app cannot generate the ordinary service requests described in this policy.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in a support message or another interaction, contact [email protected] so we can review the situation and take action required by applicable law.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this page when our privacy practices change and identify the effective date of the updated policy. New accounts, cloud sync, remote notifications, analytics, or other data-handling features will need to be reflected here before release.
